COMMITTEE Activities Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19th at 7:00 pm at Marion Snyder's house at 16732 16th . We need to start planning for the Holiday Party, so please come! RSVP to Activities Co-Chair Chris Kocher at 533-1223. Wanted: Someone who likes to make fun happen! The Activities Committee is looking for more active members. Mary and Tim Cleaveland are the organizers of the event, so if you can lend a helping hand, call them at 533-9580. Once again, save the date--September 12th--Salmon BBQ at the clubhouse grounds! SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD AUGUST 1, 2001 Grouse Reserve letter from the city was discussed no action taken. Covenants enforcement was discussed with no action taken. Enforcement issues and By Law updating will be on the September agenda ORGANIZING RECORDS The secretary will put together a collection of current bylaws, covenants, amendments, Vegetation Management Plan, Building/Remodel and other policy documents, court decisions, and a list of 2001 Board Actions to date. This will then be duplicated for each Board member to retain and keep up-to-date until the Board member leaves the Board, at which time these documents will be passed on to new Board members. When Nancy Rust was president of the Board, she put together loose-leaf binders with much of this material for each Board member. Past Board members are asked to turn over to Roger Lowell, 546-0128, any Board files that may be in their possession. In addition, we will look into hiring a professional to organize our haphazard collection of old files so that we have better information retrieval. We have one name as a possibility, and Laskin will try to get another. BOARD ORIENTATION It was suggested that each year after Board elections are held there should be a Board Orientation meeting so that new members can learn what issues are currently before the Board and some of the history involved and how the Board operates. BOARD MEETINGS: PROCEDURES AND OPERATIONS Laskin recommended that we all read "How to Have Difficult Conversations". We discussed several suggestions for having the regular monthly Board meetings end earlier so that people don't feel they have to leave before the meeting is over. After various ideas were discussed, the Board decided to try the following:
